This computerized tracking system ensures that your furniture and personal possessions are securely tracked while we clean and store them and repair your home.

SERVPRO cares for 100% of the items in your home, whether they need cleaning or only storage. At your home, our project manager determines what needs to be done to restore each item. One by one, we label each item with your name, then QR-code and photograph it. Then we securely wrap the objects: furniture in blankets and plastic wrap, glass in bubble wrap and plastic wrap, and so forth. We box your smaller personal items, and then photograph, seal and label each box.

After you have witnessed the entire process, you review and sign off on a form that lists all the items with the before-wrap photos. (This list also provides essential information for your insurance claim.) 

An Unbroken Chain of Custody

After everything’s wrapped, we load your possessions into storage containers (or vaults), which are also labeled and QR-coded. With a simple scan, SERVPRO staff can immediately tell where an item is in the cleaning process, and its exact location in our facility, conveniently located in Bloomfield (built in 2015 and one of the largest SERVPRO warehouses in the U.S.).

If you need to retrieve items early—documents required for insurance claims, say, or the contents of a room that can be set up before your home is fully restored—we quickly locate the items in our system and determine exactly where they are stored. Certain items, like smoke-damaged clothing, or unique possessions, like pianos or pool tables, are entrusted to specialty cleaners that SERVPRO contracts with.

Finally, after we restore your home and return all items, you again review and sign off on the original tracking form to ensure that all your items are present, clean and in good condition.
